After the results of Saturday’s competitions were tallied and read, the Avon Marching Black and Gold stood alone as the 2023 Bands of America Grand National Champions! This is Avon’s 4th Grand National title and the first time Avon has won it in 13 years.
Avon competed with 91 other bands from across the country over the course of 3 days of competition, earning a first place score 97.475 and earning the highest achievement awards for Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding General Effect. Avon’s students showed dedication and professionalism through the course of the weekend, performing with precision, emotion, and musicality.
The season ended in stunning fashion late Saturday night with Avon performing at their highest level all season, being crowned Grand National Champions at Lucas Oil Stadium early Sunday morning with fans, parents, and alumni showing their support for the members of the Marching Black and Gold.
