The Avon Concert Band Program is made up of five different bands, based on the student’s abilities. Each level provides students the opportunity to grow and develop their own individual skills, as well as the skils of the full ensemble.

Avon Wind Symphony: This is the highest level of Concert Band at Avon High School, which is a Group 1 band that performs collegiate level literature and performs at the ISSMA State qualifier.

Avon Symphonic Band: This is an ISSMA Group 1 band that performs at the ISSMA Concert Band contest.

Avon Concert Band: This is a Group 2 band that performs at the ISSMA Concert Band contest.

Avon Black Band: This is a group 3 band and performs at the ISSMA Concert Band contest.

Avon Gold Band: This is a group 3 or 4 band that performs at the ISSMA Concert Band contest.

The Avon concert bands are open to all students. Placement in each band is based on ability, and students audition in May for the upcoming year. ISSMA Concert Band Contest is in April and May, with other performances scheduled throughout the year.
