Job Descriptions
Admissions Gate: Adults only. Sell Entrance tickets and programs; Check for wristbands
Band Check-in: Adults only. Greet bands upon arrival and distribute director packets; Coordinate guides/handstampers; Be sure band students hands are stamped
Band Gate Entry: Adults only. Open the gate for bands entering the performance field; Assist with props if needed
Building Monitor:Adults only. Direct students to the restrooms inside the school; Ensure no one “wonders” through the building. You can bring a chair, book, knitting or get your steps in walking the hallway.
Bleacher Duty: Adults only. Stop spectators from entering the stands during performances
Concessions: We need your help here as always! Students can help here if a parent is also volunteering in this area.
Dan Jones Exit Monitors: Prevent entry to Dan Jones, help with buses exiting.
East Dr. Traffic Control: Coordinate and manage foot and vehicle traffic on east side of school.
Field Timing: Adults only. Time entrance, performance, and exit
Guide: Adults only.You will be the primary contact for your assigned band from the time they arrive until they have completed their performance.
Hospitality: Adults only. Assist in set-up, food preparation, and serving food to visiting directors. This is an extremely important area since we are “known” for our excellent hospitality.
Parking: Assist in directing traffic for bus arrivals/departures; Direct spectators to parking.
Off Site Parking: Support/liaison for Cedar and Hickory parking.
Set-up: Assist with setting up tables, water stations, directional signage, and miscellaneous items.
Tear Down: Assist with putting away tables, water stations, directional signage, and miscellaneous items.
Volunteer Check-in: Adults only. Greet all of our volunteers and direct them to their assigned area; Distribute concession vouchers.
Warm-Up Area Timer: Adults only. Responsible for timing the physical or musical warm-up for the bands. Important area to ensure the invitational runs smoothly.
Water Table: Students are a big help here. You will make sure the cups are filled with water as the bands exit the field.
